The Environmental Committee of the Associated Students of Diablo Valley College (ASDVC) is responsible for promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and eco-friendly practices across campus. This includes organizing initiatives that reduce waste, encouraging energy conservation, and supporting policies that protect the environment. The committee works to integrate sustainable solutions into student life by hosting educational events, partnering with college departments, and collaborating with external organizations focused on environmental stewardship. Its efforts help ensure that campus operations reflect a commitment to environmental responsibility and long-term ecological health. Meetings are held regularly to plan new projects, monitor progress on sustainability goals, and gather student feedback and involvement.

Current Project
Campus Pond Cleanup Initiative
The Campus Pond Cleanup Initiative is an ongoing sustainability effort led by the Environmental Committee to improve the health, cleanliness, and appearance of the pond area at Diablo Valley College. This project focuses on removing litter and debris, reducing harmful waste, and restoring the natural environment around the pond to create a safer and more pleasant space for students, wildlife, and visitors.
Volunteers will help with tasks such as trash collection, weed removal, and identifying areas in need of maintenance or restoration. Beyond the physical cleanup, this initiative aims to raise awareness about environmental stewardship and encourage responsible use of shared campus spaces.
It is an opportunity for students to take part in hands-on environmental work, build community, and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable campus. Join us in making a visible difference and helping preserve the beauty of our campus landscape.
