The Diversity Affairs Committee is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and equitable environment within ASDVC and across campus. This committee addresses issues related to cultural representation, equity, and social justice by promoting awareness, organizing educational initiatives, and advocating for policies that support underrepresented and marginalized student groups. Through collaboration with student organizations, campus departments, and the broader community, the committee works to ensure that all students feel seen, heard, and supported. Its efforts contribute to a campus culture grounded in belonging, mutual respect, and equal opportunity for every student.
Past Projects
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
The Diversity Committee hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to recognize and honor the cultural contributions, history, and achievements of Hispanic and Latino communities. The event featured interactive activities, informational displays, and opportunities for students to engage in discussions about identity, heritage, and representation. This initiative helped promote cultural awareness, foster inclusivity, and create a welcoming environment where students from diverse backgrounds feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
