The Rules Committee plays a crucial role in maintaining and updating the governing documents of the Associated Students of Diablo Valley College (ASDVC). This committee reviews the ASDVC Constitution, Bylaws, and procedural issues, recommending amendments to ensure clarity, relevance, and alignment with organizational goals. Its work supports effective governance and promotes transparency and accountability within ASDVC.
Past Projects
Election Code
The Election Code was updated with a new section on Special Elections, developed collaboratively with the Vice President of Executive Affairs. This addition provides clear guidelines for managing Special Elections, ensuring transparency, consistency, and fairness in the process while enhancing the integrity of ASDVC's electoral framework.
A New Executive Position
Worked with the Legislative Committee to review and refine a draft for creating the new Executive position of Vice President of San Ramon Campus Affairs. This role aims to represent the unique needs of the San Ramon Campus community. The collaboration also focused on amending the Bylaws to incorporate the position’s responsibilities and qualifications into the ASDVC governance structure.
